Position Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for the security of the MultiCare facilities and the safety of its patients, staff, employees, and visitors within its boundaries. Officer conducts general security duties and specific posted duties in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, regulations. Officer will deter criminal activity and misconduct and perform other duties specified in post orders. Officer may conduct investigations and file daily activity reports. This position works under limited supervision. Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine situations and functions requiring a service oriented individual, discretion, good judgment, and physical ability. Officer actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the MultiCare Health System. Internal contacts include staff, management, physicians and volunteers throughout the organization. External contacts include visitors, patients, and local law enforcement agencies.

Minimum Requirements:
One year of experience in police, military police, or security; preferably in a health care setting.
No felony convictions
No misdemeanor convictions within 3 years.
No pattern of criminal behavior
Current AHA BLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
